We are the brothers of the Zeta Upsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated. It is part of our mission "provide service and advocacy for our communities," and for the least of these and most deserving are babies.
Right now, babies in our northern Virginia community need all the help they can get. Premature birth affects about 8% of the babies born in our area. African American moms are 53% more likely to have issues at childbirth. We have a 5.8% infant mortality rate in northern Virginia, which is unacceptable; we can do better. We're walking in March for Babies to help the nearly 12% of African American children born prematurely, and you can help.
