MLK Celebration – Leesburg Virginia

The annual MLK Celebration Walk in Leesburg, Virginia, is a great grassroots event that showcases the works and deeds of Brother, Dr. Martin Luther King, and is sponsored by former students of the Douglass High School built in 1941 just outside Leesburg, Virginia. Douglas High School was the first high school for African-American students in Loudoun County. The school was built on land purchased by the black community and donated to the county. It was the only high school for African-American students until the end of segregation in Loudoun County in 1968.

The event will be held in downtown Leesburg, Virginia starting at the Loudoun County Courthouse at 18 E Market St, Leesburg, VA 20176 and ends at Douglass High School, located at 407 E Market St, Leesburg, VA 20176.
